Italy's Moretto is going to build a factory for producing forged plates and drip moldings in Brzan near Batocina, primarily for the needs of the automotive industry, it was announced on the municipal website.

The municipality of Batocina and the Italian company Moretto, which has a regional office in Belgrade, yesterday signed a preliminary agreement on an investment in Brzan Industrial Zone. This document was signed in the presence of Batocina Mayor Radisa Milosevic, Moretto CEO Milasin Arsic and its owner Moretto Alfredino, the release on the website of the Batocina municipality reads.

Construction of a plant on an area of about 2 hectares should commence in 90 days at the latest, whereas production is expected to begin within 12 months of the construction commencement date, Mayor Radisa Milosevic announced.

The investor is obliged to hire 50 workers over the next two years, 70 percent of whom must be from the territory of the Batocina municipality. The local self-government will free Moretti of the obligation to pay local taxes.

The Italian company should also get employment incentives from the state, the release reads.

As Tanjug news agency announced Wednesday, Mayor Radisa Milosevic said that the investment was worth EUR 4 million.
