SIEPA and Italian-Serbian Business Chamber sign cooperation agreement

Serbian Investment and Export Promotion Agency (SIEPA) signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the Italian-Serbian Business Chamber on Thursday. In the presence of Italian Ambassador to Serbia Giuseppe Manzo, the document was signed by SIEPA Director Bozidar Laganin and Andrea Simoncelli, president of the Italian-Serbian Business Chamber. Thanks to the agreement, Italian companies which contact SIEPA to get information about investment opportunities in Serbia will receive an efficient support through a specially designated service that will be using the structure and strength of the Italian-Serbian Business Chamber.

As SIEPA said in a release, Italy is the leading country-investor in Serbia not only in terms of total investment value (EUR 3.15 billlion) and investment project count (61), but also by the number of workers Italian companies in Serbia employ (22,151 workers). Also, during the first six months of this year, Italy secured the first place on the ranking list of Serbia's foreign trade partners with a total foreign trade of EUR 1.7 billion, up 60 percent from the same period in 2012.

The Italian-Serbian Business Chamber was founded in 2002, and it today represents 170 member companies that operate in both Italy and Serbia. It is the second largest of the total of 22 chambers of commerce operating in Serbia.
