"Kuprom" offered complete modernization of smelter in Mining Smeltery Basin "Bor"

After procurement of tender documentation, Romanian "Kuprom" entered the race for purchase of Mining Smeltery Basin "Bor", the biggest copper deposit in the Balkans.

Horija Simu, the President of "Kuprom", pointed out that, if it won on the tender, his company would invest most money in the environment protection, first of all, in the complete rehabilitation of the metallurgy units.

- Repairs in the copper smeltery are not possible. Minimal investments are out of question, because the long-term and quality solution is necessary – said Simu and added that partial reconstruction represented only the marketing trick and not the introduction of obligatory world standards.
