Negotiations on microchip factory construction in Serbia commenced - Mubadala also proposes production of components for airline industry
First Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic and Minister of Finance and Economy Mladjan Dinkic spoke Thursday (1 August 2013) with the representatives of the Mubadala company from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) about joint projects.
- This is of strategic importance for our country. The Serbian government will provide full support and accept all terms in order to accelerate the process of cooperation in the field of information technologies - Vucic pointed out.
The two sides talk about cooperation in the IT industry and concrete projects preceding the construction of microchip factory in Belgrade.
According to a release published on the website of the Serbian government, the first phase will see the construction of an IT research and development center that would employ our top scientists and engineers. The investment in the research and development project would amount to few hundred million US dollars.
Mubadala's second concrete proposal concerned the construction of a factory for producing highly development components for the airline industry.
- Serbia is our second home. We are not here to set conditions, but to present proposals for partnership. We've come her to give you some ideas and to support you. That's what real friends do - said Mubadala CEO Valed Ahmed Salim Almokarab Al Muhairi.
Among the other topics discussed at the meeting are investments in telecommunications, renewables, gas plants, and construction projects (hotels, office space, residential facilities).
