Ukrainians interested in Zelezara

Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic said Saturday (27 July 2013) that an Ukrainian partner was interested in entering into partnership with Zelezara Smederevo under the terms that would be agreed with the Serbian government.

After a talk with Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovich at the celebration of the 1025th anniversary of Russia accepting Christianity, Nikolic said that Ukraine would carry out monitoring in the Smederevo steelworks within the next few months to determine its actual state.

- During Yanukovich's visit to Serbia (in early June), we agreed on economic cooperation between the two countries, and now we talked about what has been done in the meantime, especially about what we can do to revive the Metallurgy Combine in Smederevo... - said Nikolic.

Announcing the monitoring activities by the Ukrainian partner in Zelezara Smederevo steel plant, Nikolic voiced his expectation that once the process was completed, in few months, talks with Ukrainians would end in a success.

A delegation of Serbia led by President Nikolic attended the celebration of the 1,025th anniversary of Russia accepting Christianity in the Ukrainian capital of Kiev on Saturday.
