PKB to set up additional two new farms by end-2015
Poljoprivredna Korporacija Beograd (Beograd Agricultural Corporation - PKB) is going to set up another two new dairy cow farms by the end of 2015 that will be modeled after the one built last year in which nearly 10 million euros were invested, said PKB CEO Rajko Mandic.
PKB invested over EUR 15 million in its production capacity last year, spending about EUR 5 million on the procurement of agricultural machinery and irrigation system.
Mandic reminded that the farm had been built in record time, between April and December 2012. This farm accommodates 2,560 cows.
Aside from farm with all accompanying facilities, we will also set up a biogas plant in cooperation with our foreign partners to generate both electricity and heat for future greenhouses, Mandic announced.
