Energy saving as a ticket for better future - Republic Agency for Energy Efficiency starts big educational campaign in Serbia
Agency for Energy Efficiency of Republic of Serbia will start the energetic media-promotional campaign on Monday (October 30, 2006), of which aim, according to the manager of that agency, Nenad Pavlović, and PR manager Selena Pješivac, is education and informing of citizens of Serbia on significance of the energy efficiency and saving of electricity and all other sources of energy.
- Our basic wish is to change the behavious of our people, as well as to help them realize that the obligation of all of us is to constantly take care of how much energy we spend and in which way, because the future of this country depends on that to a great extent - – Pješivac explained in the statement for "Ekapija".
She says that the aforementioned media campaign will last for 36 days and that, in that period, in some of the most popular TV programs in the country, four different animated TV videos of educational and informative character, directed to various target groups, will be broadcast.
- Peculiarity of this campaign lies in the fact that we do not sell anything. Not even knowledge, because it is available to all of us. We will be satisfied if we manage to change the way in which our citizens look today at the energy consumption and help them become socially more responsible people. Because the idea of energy efficiency is part of the story about sustainable development and efforts for something to be left to the future generations - Jer, ideja o energetskoj efikasnosti je sastavni deo priče o održivom razvoju i naporima da se nešto ostavi i budućim generacijama – Pješivac pointed out.
Parallelly with the broadcast of TV videos, the Agency will commence realization of another well-conceived project at the beginning of November. The project is about distribution of promotional materials, that is, the "A class" stickers, which will be given to the citizens with the first next electricity bill.
The purpose of the campaign is to inform and stimulate consumers in Serbia to, whenever possible, chose the household appliances that are characterized by smaller electricity consumption, that is, TV sets, refrigerators and washing machine of the energy class "A". Total of 996,000 such stickers have been printed and the entire project is backed by European Agency for Reconstruction.
