Jat Airways to become Air Srbija - Vucic announces changes to Serbian flag carrier
Serbian First Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic said today that he expected a successful outcome of negotiations with Etihad as well as a partnership agreement to be signed between that company and Jat Airways.
Vucic told a press conference that the problem of Jat would finally be successfully solved, announcing the change of the company name into - Air Srbija.
Jat Airways CEO Velibor Vukasinovic stated that the experts of Etihad, a company based in the United Arab Emirates, were intensively analyzing the operations of our flag carrier.
The Serbian government and Etihad signed a Memorandum of Understanding on 17 June 2013 to push forward the talks about Etihad's possible investment in Jat.
Etihad and Jat signed April 15th an agreement on cooperation through joint flights and ticket sales. Based on this document, the company from the UAE started operating daily flights between Belgrade and Abu Dhabi on Jun 15th.
