The future wastewater treatment plant in Leskovac, in which EUR 24 million will be invested, will be a property of the Ministry of Environmental Protection of Serbia.

Head of the Environmental Protection Administration in Leskovac, Zarko Bogatinovic, stated that the main building permit for that plant was expected to be issued within the next few days, which would create conditions for the continuation of the second phase of the project - so-called sludge line.

- The Ministry of Environmental Protection has finally signed an agreement to gain jurisdiction over the plant, which was the only condition set by the Dutch government for launching the third phase of construction of that plant - ORIO Program - Bogatinovic stressed.

This plant in under construction in the vicinity of the confluence of the Veternica River with the Juzna Morava River, near the village of Bogojevce.
