Construction of Capital Park Sabac starts June 2013 - Investment worth EUR 9 million
A project to build Capitol Park Sabac, the first retail park in that city and the second of the kind in Serbia, was presented Wednesday at the Sabac City Hall. This shopping center, modelled after Austrian retail facilities, will be build next to a strategically important route that connects Sabac, Loznica and Sremska Mitrovica. Capitol Park Sabac will consist of 9,688 square meters of retail space on an area of 27,000 square meters. The facility will be comprised of 14 units ranging in size between 109 and 3,000 square meters as well as a parking lot for 395 cars, it is said in a release on the city official website.
Representatives of investors: James Gunn and James Brodie (Poseidon Group) and Marko Krajncic (Yu Kapital), introduced the media to the plan for building this facility that is due to open 31 March 2014. The total value of the investment will be in excess of EUR 9 million.
- We now await approval for final designs to obtain a building permit, which we expect to receive in May, so that the foundation stone could be laid in June. Capitol Park Sabac will not be only a shopping center, but also a venue for numerous events in the city - said Marko Krajncic.
He also thanked Sabac Mayor Milos Milosevic and the city management for excellent cooperation that has brought this project to its implementation phase.
As James Brodie explained, the concept of this retail park is the same as the concept of European retail facilities. He also pointed out that international companies would account for 80 percent of all tenants, whereas the rest will be local and regional companies.
- We have signed agreements with Tempo hypermarkets. There will also be Denmark's JYSK, New Yorker fashion store, Deichman footwear store, perfume, household appliances, sports gear stores, restaurants, coffee shops, exchange offices... Each outlet will feature a separate entrance and a parking lot for staff, and Capitol Park Sabac will employ more than 100 people - James Brodie stressed.
