Contracts signed on supply of Russian gas to Serbia until 2021
Two agreements were signed today in the Serbian government for the supply of Russian gas, providing Serbia with full security of supply and a lower price of gas in the next ten years, B92 reports.
The first document was signed by Deputy Chairman of the Gazprom Managing Board Alexei Miller and YugoRosGaz Director Vladimir Koldin, while the other was signed by Miller and Srbijagas General Director Dusan Bajatovic.
Russian Ambassador Alexander Chepurin and Serbian Minister of Natural Resources, Mining and Spatial Planning Milan Bacevic attended the signing ceremony.
The most important benefits of the new agreement on an annual supply of five billion cubic meters of gas are its flexibility, absence of penalties and possibility to additionally lower the price of gas.
- Under the contract, Serbia will get guarantees for gas deliveries through 2021 at a preferential price that is 13 percent lower than the current price - Miller said at the signing ceremony in the Serbian capital.
Before the signing, Prime Minister Ivica Dacic met with Miller behind close doors, after which the delegations of the Serbian government and Gazprom discussed future joint plans and businesses.
According to announcements, Miller will also meet with Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic and First Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic later on Wednesday.
