Serbian Ministry of Interior and FBI to open center for fighting cybercrime in Belgrade
The Serbian Ministry of Interior and the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) plan to open a center for fighting high-technology crime (cybercrime) in Belgrade, said State Secretary at the Ministry of Interior Vladimir Bozovic.
Bozovic said at a round table on information and communication technologies in the Serbian Chamber of Commerce that the opening of such cybercrime center was a result of a meeting between Prime Minister Ivica Dacic and FBI Director Robert Mueller in the USA.
- The importance of this topic is best seen by looking at the list of priorities for the FBI, where terrorism tops the list as a threat to global security and cybercrime, that is, fight against high technology crime, ranks second - said Bozovic.
Fight against cybercrime will be one of the priorities for police work in the future because the bigger the scientific and technological progress, the worse the problems with the abuse of technologies, Bozovic explained.
