Investors protected from restitution - Zrenjanin gives guarantee for land in Ecka Industrial Zone

Zrenjanin's aldermen gave a guarantee to investors in Ecka Industrial Zone on Monday for the land that has not yet been made subject to procedures initiated by the Restitution Agency in line with requests for the return of property.

The city management invested EUR 4 million from EU funds in the equipping of the industrial zone, but it missed the deadline to file a request for the regulation of that zone pursuant to the Law on Restitution and Disposal of Land in Public Ownership.

It is said that the City of Zrenjanin takes on an obligation to indemnify possible previous owners, in compliance with the Law on Return of Confiscated Land, by 1 April 2014.

Ecka Industrial Zone occupies an area of about 120 hectares stretching along the Zrenjanin-Belgrade main route.
