Mr Bricolage to leave Nis, DIS to take its place
Nis Mayor Zoran Perisic said today that France's Mr Bricolage store in Nis would be closed, adding that that facility would be sold to the domestic market chain DIS, which would employ between 70 and 90 people.
As Perisic said, the city did not take part in that transaction.
Lidl market chain has bought a location in Nis and is interested in buying another two, but the opening of Lidl stores should not be expected before 2014, Perisic said at the final press conference in this year.
He noted that he was in the talks with two serious investors at the moment.
Perisic said he could not reveal their names because they, too, "are not waving papers" until the talks were over.
Mr Bricolage opened its store in Nis in December 2009. As it was announced on that occasion, the company invested EUR 9 million in that 5,800 square meter facility.
The French market chain had 75 employees in Nis as well as an assortment of 30,000 do-it-yourself items.
