PayPal to leave Croatia
Online money transfer company PayPal is to close its office in Croatia, represented by the company Where, at the end of December, after only one year of operation.
In the current year, the company had a turnover of more than USD 1 million.
The closure will see seventeen computer programmers lose their jobs, although some of them have reportedly been offered positions at the company in the US.
PayPal is pulling out of Croatia because of security of investment and business standards.
If it were to continue to operate in Croatia, it would have to employ at least another 30 people to stay in line with company standards, but the risk was deemed too high.
