Kursumlija-based Simpo SIK has so far signed EUR 6.36 million contracts to sell hardboard in Serbia and abroad in 2013, while negotiations on another contract worth EUR 2 million are still underway, the company said in a release.

Simpo SIK, the only Serbian company that uses the wet process to produce hardboard, achieved a record daily production of 177,545 tonnes of raw hardboard panels in November.

- Ever since Simpo SIK commissioned its factory for producing raw hardboard in April 2011, efforts have been continuously put into increasing the production capacity and the record has been broken several times. The production of 177,545 tonnes of raw hardboard panels in a single day is the absolute record since the start of hardboard production in Serbia in 1970.

Aside from constantly improving the process of production, Simpo SIK also implements few projects that are crucial for further development and progress of the company. One of them is the development of company's own water supply system.

The company also implements two projects aimed at substituting crude oil with wood biomass in the production of technology steam in order to improve energy efficiency, preserve environment, reduce production costs and increase the competitiveness of Simpo SIK's products, reads the release.
