Serbia. New Law on public ski centers to show its value on new investments in Kopaonik mountain

New Law on Public Ski Centers will have its implementation at the beginning of Summer 2005 when the start of the construction of several ski centers is scheduled. Financial structure will be ended by the participation of the Government of Republic of Serbia with about €2,000,000, whereas business system ``Genex`` will invest another €2m. During this winter season, about 2,116,000 skiers have been transported, while new four-seat ski lift alone transported half a million of total number of skiers.

Austrian company ``Dopelmajer`` will in the following years be agent in construction of new ski lifts through provision of credit lines that would be paid off after multiyear grace period.

Ski jumps should soon become reality on Kopaonik mountain. The procurement of machines for production of artificial snow is in the pipeline.

The final result is placing of Kopaonik mountain in the offers of the leading world tour-operators, such as "Thompson" and "Crystal holiday".

Ownership transformation of hotels ``Jat`` and ``Genex`` is expected in May 2005. (Pregled)
