(at the meeting)
Representatives of the Chinese company CICO (Chongqing International Construction Corporation) stated Wednesday (17 October 2012) in Novi Sad that they were interested in participating in the construction of the M21 corridor, that is, the Novi Sad-Ruma section, it was announced on the website of the Vojvodina government.
They said in a talk with Secretary for Economy Miroslav Vasin that they were interested in building the section between Novi Sad and Ruma, including a tunnel through Fruska Gora, as well as the section from Ruma to Sabac and further to the border with Bosnia-Herzegovina.
It was suggested at the meeting that a memorandum should be prepared to regulate the cooperation between the Vojvodina government and the Chinese partner and define the legal and economic framework and the possibilities of cooperation, which must be agreed upon by the Serbian government.
It was stressed that the construction of the M21 corridor was a priority for Vojvodina, as well as that the Vojvodina government would form a team with the Serbian government to monitor the implementation of that project.
