Interex withdraws from Romania and focuses on Bosnia-Herzegovina and Serbia
France's Les Mousquetaires-Intermarche has confirmed that Interex, its Balkan-based arm, is leaving the Romanian market.
- The group has decided to withdraw from the Romanian market and to focus its activities on Bosnia and Serbia - reads a release issued by that market chain.
Interex started strengthening its position in the markets of Bosnia and Serbia by opening a store in Valjevo on August 28th, and it also plans to open another store in Belgrade by the year's end. Interex operates 24 markets in Bosnia and 9 stores in Serbia. The first store in this area was opened in Bosnia in 1999.
