Nis-Trieste flights starting April 2013
Italian airplanes will be flying between Nis and Trieste once a week starting April 2013, it was announced by the management of the Italian airport Aeroporto Friuli Venezia Guilia.
Nis-Trieste flights will be operated using Mistral Air's airplanes, while tickets for these new flights will be available through the Italian travel agency Balkan Express.
This company, which is primarily engaged in freight and postal transport, is in the possession of the Italian postal service Posta Italiana, and it also often operates passenger charter flights for the needs of travel agencies.
This news has also been confirmed to the web portal Aviokarta.net by Dragan Bugarinovic, director of Konstantin Veliki Airport in Nis.
- This is a project of the European Union, in which we have been actively participating from the very start. We still don't know all the details related to the announced introduction of Nis-Trieste flights. The plan is also to launch a joint website to sell tickets online - said Bugarinovic.
He stressed that subsidies for that flight service would not be provided by the City of Nis, but by the European Union.
This new service will be a part of the international project Air Net, which is aimed at connecting regional airports.
