Fiat 500L from Serbia starts its journey
The rail transport of Fiat's 500L vehicles from Kragujevac to the Port of Bar starts Monday (13 August 2012), Serbian Railways announced.
The first train with 16 cars will transport a total of 208 new automobiles intended for export from the Kragujevac-based factory Fiat Automobili Srbija (FAS).
The official sale of Fiat's new model 500L, which is exclusively produced in Kragujevac, starts October 1st in Europe. This car can be ordered in Italy and all major European markets since last month, and it will be marketed to over 100 countries around the world, including the United States of America, as well as the region of Asia and the Pacific.
Serbian Railways announced that 130 trains would transport 26,000 automobiles by the year's end, adding that the plan for 2013 was to transport 160,000 automobiles using 14 trains a week.
People at Fiat Automobili Srbija (FAS) earlier told Tanjug news agency that everything related to the production and sale of new model 500L was going as planned and that the sale would start October, first in high-priority markets - Italy and Serbia.
According to the words of FAS CEO Antonio Cesare Ferrara, the price of 500L in the Italian market will start at EUR 15,500. When it comes to Serbia, the basic version of this car will cost EUR 13,490, and the offer will include three engines that are characterized by a lower level of harmful emissions and carbon-dioxide.
