Transport of oil derivatives by European standards - NIS to procure state-of-the-art tanker trucks
As part of the modernization of the company's motor pool, the Petroleum Industry of Serbia (NIS) has provided eight new tanker trucks for transporting oil derivatives, while the entire project envisages the procurement of 44 state-of-the-art tanker trucks by year's end.
First 12 tanker trucks will be put in use during the summer. Following the complete modernization of the fleet, NIS' 44 new tanker trucks will be able to transport almost the same quantity of products as it is currently transported by twice as many trucks.
New specialized road vehicles - Mercedes Benz towing trucks with Euro5 engine, and multi-chamber aluminum cisterns, with the capacity of 35,000 liters, are designed in compliance with the highest European standards, which will enable more efficient and quicker transport of goods to the final destination.
Given that new vehicles are equipped pursuant to European regulations, this procurement is also a NIS' contribution to the road traffic safety and ecology.
Each tanker truck will travel approximately 120,000 kilometers a year to supply oil derivatives to about 400 NIS Petrol gas stations between Subotica and Bujanovac, as well as to numerous consumers in Serbia, reads a release issued by the company.
