First Serbian-Finnish Association in Serbia to be founded in Obrenovac this weekend
The founding assembly of Serbian-Finnish Association, which will deal with establishment and promotion of cultural, economic and every other form of cooperation between the two countries, will be held on Sunday, July 2, 2006, in the hall of Cultural Center Obrenovac, starting at noon.
According to the words of the organizer of that meeting, Serbian-Finnish Association will be the first such organization in Serbia. The main reason why its Founding Assembly takes place in Obrenovac is that the aforementioned Belgrade's borough maintains very close relations with all Nordic countries for years.
The intention is that the branches of the future Serbian-Finnish Association, after Obrenovac, be founded in many other places in the Republic, which should be followed by the election of central management for Serbia in Belgrade. Besides, forming of similar associations with Sweden and Denmark is in the pipeline.
On the occasion of the aforementioned founding assembly, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Finland and Embassy of Finland to Belgrade, will organize exhibit on Sunday in the Cultural Center. The name of the exhibit will be: How did Finland, once poor agricultural country, become one of the ten richest world countries. The exhibit, according to the announcement, will be opened by the Second Secretary of the Embassy of Finland to Belgrade, Aleksi Vakun.
