Belgrade-based Insert to build footwear factory in Ruma - Land allotment agreement signed
An agreement on the alienation of a 1.5-hectare building land was signed yesterday in the City Hall of Ruma with Belgrade-based Insert, which is going to build a shoe factory on that land.
- The new 3,500-square-meter factory will be built in Western Industrial Zone - Insert Director Zarko Kojic told eKapija.
This company has been operating in a rented space within the factory Kluz in Ruma since 2009. Following the completion of the new factory, Insert will increase the number of its employees from current 150 to 240. The value of this investment is close to EUR 3 million.
- We annually make 350,000 pairs of shoes, that is, about 1,000 a day. A major portion of the production is done for prestigious world brands: Prada, Louis Vitton, Dior, Armani, Valentino. Since all the raw material is provided by them, we only charge our work fee - Kojic explained.
This company has been engaged in shoe production for as many as ten years, operating at the factory in Sremska Mitrovica. They have decided to invest in Ruma because of its favorable geographic position and qualified manpower, and they expect the production at the new factory to start as early as by the year's end.
