Do you know where in Belgrade to find good Cuban, Brazilian and Argentinian dishes and South American wines and cocktails?

The answer to this question is - Bar Latino restaurant (www.barlatino.rs), opened in May 2010 and situated only few steps away from the Cuban cocktail bar Cafe Buena Vista at 5 Turgenjeva street, Banovo Brdo.

The authors of this project are very proud of the restaurant's interior, which is all painted in dark brown and baige, with the occasional splash of gold. It also features wood details covering parts of walls and the ceiling. The restaurant is divided into two levels: a cafe lounge, where you can pick something from a wide range of drinks, including a number of wines from Chile, Argentina, Portugal, etc., and a gallery, where you can enjoy various food specialties.

The two levels are connected by specially lit stairs leading to a pyramid modeled after a temple of ancient Mayans. The entire space is illuminated by a replica of the stained glass that decorates Casa de la Musica in Barcelona, symbolizing the sun.

The menu is variegated and aims to bring the flavors of Central and South America closer to Belgrade. It is interesting that this is the only restaurant that also serves the Cuban cuisine. Quesadillas, tapas, empanadas and various salsas are only a small part of the offer introducing a guest to this culinary world. There is also the Brazilian cream soup, the Peruan chicken soup and unusual salads with mango and scampi, pear, cashew and blue cheese and others, which are meant to present the authentic flavors of Tropical areas to people in Belgrade. Those who prefer more classical meals can choose between a number of pastas and some international dishes.

The list of main courses includes various chicken and pork specialties, beef steaks, ram steaks, salmon, scampi, so that even the pickiest ones can find something they like.

When it comes to desserts, guests can try the Cuban rum cake, chocolate truffles with orange, fried bananas, pineapple prepared in the Tropical way and many other delicacies.

It should be underlined that the restaurant hosts a different music band every night, which additionally contributes to the ambience.

Prices of all dishes and drinks are quite affordable and average. There is also a 10% bonus on the monthly consumption at the restaurant, which can be used in the following month.

The restaurant is open every day from 9 AM to 1 AM (the kitchen is open until 11.30 PM).
