Boris Tadic cuts his mandate short - Joint parliamentary and presidential elections on May 6th

Serbian President Boris Tadic said today he was resigning 10 months before the end of his mandate, clearing the way for joint parliamentary and presidential elections to take place on May 6th, when he will seek a new five-year term.
- I will run in that election with optimism because of the positive trends in our country - Tadic told the press.
Tadic said he expected the elections to be tough and called on voters to choose which way they want the country to go.
- I'm offering a road of European integration - said Tadic.
- We will not recognize Kosovo - he concluded.
