"Zastava" to assemble new model "Fiat Albeo", race with model "Logan" for regional winner ?

"Zastava auto" will, next to "Punto" (Zastava 10), be producing another of FIAT's automobiles - the new model "Albea", which was completely developed in Torino. The Italians want to use this model to compete with Reanult/Dacia's model "Logan", of which sales is extremely high on the market of Southeast Europe.

According to these information, "FIAT" wants to use geographic position and regional contracts of Serbia and to export its new model to the surrounding countries, which represents market of over 50 million possible consumers. It is especially important that "Albea" and "Logan" belong to the same category of automobiles, with similar performances and design, but "Albea" will have lower price.

"Zastava" has not yet confirmed this agreement, that is kept top secret, but it is known that the Minister of Economy, Predrag Bubalo, travels to Italy to negotiate about broadening of business-technical cooperation between companies Zastava and Fiat.
