City of Belgrade takes out loan to procure 400 buses - EUR 30 million for new trams
By a decision made by the City Assembly of Belgrade, 400 new buses will be procured for the needs of the City Transportation Company (GSP) Beograd. According to the words of City Finance Secretary Renata Milic Radujko, the plan is to purchase 280 articulated and 120 single buses. This decision makes it possible for GSP to start negotiating a loan for this procurement with domestic and international business banks and other financial institutions.
According to the amendments and supplements to the Decision on a loan to Belgrade to finance the city transport and traffic infrastructure improvement project, 30 million euros will be spent on the procurement of new trams for the needs of GSP Beograd.
The Decision on allocation of funds for programs, projects and investment activities of budget users in 2013 and 2014 has also been supplemented. Among the rest, the Traffic Secretariat will get funds to procure 32 new articulated low-floor city buses, whereas the Public Procurement Agency is going to receive a grant for the second phase of reconstruction of the sports and recreation center 11. april.
