Opportunities for export of seeds, confectioneries and dairy products - Serbia, Azerbaijan to intensify cooperation in agriculture

Minister of Agriculture, Trade, Forestry and Water Management Dusan Petrovic said Thursday that Serbia and Azerbaijan had considerable capacity and opportunities to promote cooperation in the agriculture and food industries, it was announced on the Serbian government's website.
Petrovic, who is on an official visit to Azerbaijan, said in a statement to Tanjug news agency that institutes from Serbia had the ability to sell seeds in the market of Azerbaijan, noting that the dairy and confectionery industries also had a chance for export.

During the visit, Petrovic met with Azerbaijani Minister of Agriculture Ismat Abbasov and Minister of Economic Development Shahin Mustafayev, with whom he talked about new opportunities for economic cooperation between their states and the development of their foreign trade relations.

Petrovic said that they had also discussed the possibilities offered by the Serbian agriculture and the food industry.

This visit is an important step towards developing good political and economic relations between Serbia and Azerbaijan, he said, adding that the first agreements in agriculture and trade will be implemented in the first three months of 2012 .
