Fifts world conference of raspberry manufacturers and processors to be held on May 30, 2006 - first time in Serbia

For the first time, Serbia is the host to the Fifth World Conference of Raspberry Manufacturers and Processors, which will be held on May 30, 2006, on Zlatibor.

The organizers of the Conference are Business ASsociation of Cold Storage Plants of Serbia and International Raspberry Association (IRA) as the world organization of raspberry manufacturers and processors whose members are SCG, Chile, Canada, USA, Poland, Russia, Hungary and others.

The Conference will gather 150 participants from 15 countries of the world and the program will be opened by the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Waterpower Engineering of Serbia Ivana Dulić Marković.

- During last 8 years, our Association was proudly helping development of connections that unite manufacturers and processors of raspberry, as well as importers from all around the world. Our aim is to explore mutual opportunities, enable fair competition and work on realization of mutual goals by giving our best to increase the raspberry consumption in the world - said Antonio Domingez, president of IRA, pointing out that he is very satisfied with the fact that, this time, the Conference will be held in Serbia.

Executive director of the Business Association of Cold Storage Plants of Serbia, Evica Mihaljević, stated that the aforementioned conference was of extreme importance, because Serbia, as the world biggest manufacturer of raspberry, would be able to represent itself to the other countries.

- The Conference is very important for tighter bonds in the region, exchange of experiences, progress in production, because each competition is a healthy one - said Mihaljević.
