Nestle officially takes over Serbia's Centroproizvod

The company Nestle has officially completed the takeover of the business of Centroproizvod, the leading food producer in Serbia.

Nestle takes over Centroproizvod's culinary division (spices, seasonings, soups and dressings), confectionery division (spreads and chocolates), and drinks division (chocolate beverages and teas), thus confirming its long-term committment to Serbia and the entire Adriatic region.

- This takeover will improve Nestle's growth potential by combining the strong trademark Centroproizvod and the local production in Surcin with Nestle's capacity for innovations and constant improvements - Nestle announced.

Thanks to this acquisition, Nestle's current product portfolio in Serbia, which includes leading global brands such as Nescafe, Thomy, Maggi, Nesquik, Kitkat and Nestle ice creams, will be richer for another famous brand - Zacin C seasoning mix, as well as for other brands from Centroproizvod's portfolio.

- This acquisition is a strategic move to strengthen Nestlé’s presence in the region. Centroproizvod’s product portfolio is complementary to ours and the local production in Surcin with its distribution capabilities is a great asset for us - said Marco Travaglia, head of Nestlé’s Adriatic Region.

- The takeover of the business by Nestle confirms Centroproizvod's leading position, which is a result of decades of hard work in both Serbia and the region.
