New Plant for Production of Animal Food in 'Komponenta' factory in Cuprija - Investment worth 6 mil EUR
On November, 12, Minister for Agriculture and Trade, Dragan Petrovic, opened in Cuprija, a modern plant for production of animal feed within the factory "Komponenta", an investment of more than 6 million euros.
Minister Petrović said that the commissioning of the "technically perfect" plant would be very important for livestock development in Serbia, and that tens of thousands of manufacturers of this type of food would have new opportunities for its increase.
This plant will increase production by more than 2.5 times, Petrovic said, adding that this production sums to 100,000 tons, and more than 60 percent is exported.
The minister stressed that without good quality and cheap animal feed, it was not possible to make significant step forward in animal husbandry, which participates in total agricultural production with only 30 percent, whereas it should be 60 percent.
Petrovic said that a few weeks ago it had been decided to abolish all taxes, duties and levies on imports of soybean in Serbia, which will provide predictability in the business of those involved in cattle fattening.
He explained that the decision had already affected decrease in the price of soybean for a few dinars, which will mean cheaper food for fattening livestock-pigs, cattle, poultry ...
- We want to fill the barns, pens, chicken coop ... - Petrovic said, adding that the government will continue to support livestock production.
General Director of "Komponenta" Rade Jovanovic said that this was a facility with the latest equipment and world technology from America, China, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Denmark, adding that in the construction and equipping of facilities participated 50 companies from Serbia.
Livestock food factory "Komponenta" currently employs one hundred workers, whereas last year it hired 30 people. According to Jovanovic, thanks to the opening of the new plant, another 30 people will be hired.
