According to the CCIS’s proposition, when one country fully harmonizes the regulations in one sector or one field with the regulations of the EU and operates in line with those norms, that status also applies for the entire territory of the Western Balkans, it has been clarified.
– That means that the company which meets the highest European standards will not have to secure additional certificates in order to place goods in the Western Balkans, as is the case at the moment – said the adviser to the president of the CCIS, Nenad Djurdjevic.
He said that the measure would also act as an incentive for all countries of the Western Balkans to reach the European standards in each sector as quickly as possible and operate in accordance with them, the press release says.
– This is also a stimulating measure for all the governments of the Western Balkans countries to harmonize their regulations with the EU regulations as quickly as possible, in order to take part in the single European Union market – he said.
