Foundation stone for Lamp East - Infrastructure development works completed in Technology Park in Vrsac
Completion of infrastructure development project in Technology Park in Vrsac, worth about EUR 4 million, has been marked by the laying of the foundation stone for Lamp East, the first company to open its production facilities in aforementioned park.
The foundation stone for the new factory has been laid by Vojvodina Prime Minister Bojan Pajtic, Deputy Head of the EU Delegation to the Republic of Serbia Adriano Martins, and Vrsac Mayor Cedomir Zivkovic.
In addition to Lamp East, investors that will also have their production facilities built in Vrsac-based Technology Park are Fresenius Мedical Care, Esca Delight, and Roster.
Thanks to the funds granted by the European Union to the municipality of Vrsac for the implementation of aforementioned project, Technology Park already produces first positive results, only few months upon the completion of infrastructure development.
The plan is to employ about 1,000 workers at Technology Park within the next four or five years, whereas the value of investments in aforementioned period is estimated at about EUR 30 million.
Technology Park in Vrsac is built on an unused land spanning 6 hectares. An initiative for its construction came from the public and private sector, and the main reasons were the limited availability of space for the development of operations in the municipality of Vrsac and a big interest of both local and foreign investors in establishing business activities.
Aforementioned reasons were enough for the local self-government to completely equip the land with infrastructure, thus creating the best possible conditions for potential investors, with the aim of making it easier for them to decide to have their production facilities built on the territory of Technology Park in Vrsac.
