(Vladimirci Municipality)

In the very center of Vladimirci, construction of a spa center with accompanying tourist and recreational facilities, which would be using geothermal water that is abundant in this area, is in the pipeline. As eKapija learns from people at this municipality in Macva, there are several companies interested in developing spa tourism in Vladimirci.

- The municipality has prepared a 14-hectare area for the development of spa tourism, the interest in which has been expressed by several investors, including the business system Bonida, part of which is Gornja Trepca Atomic Spa. In our municipality, a geothermal water of 58 degrees Centigrade has been discovered at the depth of 800 to 1,000 meters. It is important to bring that water to the surface, and then investors can utilize it in accordance with their plans. This water can be used for various sports-recreational and spa treatment purposes – Vladan Milosevic, an associate for economic relations in the municipality of Vladimirci, explains for eKapija.

On the territory of Vladimirci, that is, in locations Debrc and Mesarci, there are already geothermal springs with the water of 54 to 57 degrees Centigrade. That water can be used in the greenhouse production of early vegetables and cut flowers, as well as for sports and recreational purposes. Vladimirci also disposes of other significant water resources, including a mineral water well in the village of Provo, which is good for the construction of a spa resort or a sports and recreation center.

- We have found, on the territory of villages Krnjic and Jalovik, a mineral water that smells of sulfur and is very similar to the one in Vrnjacka Banja spa resort. Local inhabitants now pump out that water for their own needs only, meaning that that resource has not been exploited at all. There are only two thermal wells that are utilized to heat greenhouses, one of which is owned by Farmakom - says our interlocutor.

In order to make the future spa complex complete, the first phase of construction of a swimming and recreation center in Vladimirci was commenced in mid-October 2011. It is a complex comprising outdoor swimming pools, and the works are being carried out by Valjevo-based companies Kej and Komgrad, whereas the investor is the municipality of Vladimirci.

The natural lake Vukosicka Bara, spanning 65 hectares, is an ideal place for the construction of a fish pond and a sports and recreation center, which would turn this location into the largest picnic grounds for people of Vladimirci, as well as for the citizens of the municipality of Sabac, which is only about 20 km away from that lake.

One of the greatest potentials is the riverbed of the Sava river, which stretches 27 kilometers into the territory of this municipality.

- The potentials of the Sava river have not been used to date, and what is possible is the construction of fish restaurants and other facilities that would use geothermal water from that location. The fact that the river is navigable should also be borne in mind, especially because of the port in Debrc.

Agriculture and hunting

- An 1,860-hectare area on the territory of the municipality is covered by the most fertile soil in Serbia, only 450 ha of which are cultivated. A system of canals in that area is neglected, making floods a common phenomenon, which is why this place is overgrown with weeds and settled by wild boars - says Milosevic.

Our interlocutor stresses that the municipality also has a great potential for the production of healthy food, which is why a Dutchman and a German lady moved to this fertile part of Macva few years ago to start the production of biodynamic food.

- Local forests spanning 500 hectares are rich in game, and small-scale hunting tourism is already well-developed - hunt lovers can hunt rabbits, pheasants, wild boars, does, partridges, quails, doves. Many Italians came here to hunt, but there is still an abundant potential for further development of this form of tourism.
