The French company Macopharma has acquired LBM Soft from Nis and will expand the capacities of that company which operates in the Industrial Zone Donje Medjurovo by 2,500 square meters next year, the mayor of Nis, Dragoslav Pavlovic, stated yesterday.

He said that LMB Soft employed 120 workers in Nis and that, in the next year, they were expected to create around thirty new jobs together with Macopharma. – These are highly valued jobs, mostly jobs for people who have finished technical faculties – Pavlovic stated at the press conference at the Town Hall.

The executive manager of LBM Soft, Klaus Jentsch, said that the Nis-based company designed, produced, sold and serviced all the devices used in blood transfusion and dialysis.

– We sell our products in over 80 countries worldwide. By merging with Macopharma, we will now add another new value to our product and be even more successful – said Jentsch. He said that he believed that, with support from the City Administration, the construction of the new hall might begin in February or March 2025, and that the works might be completed by the end of 2025.

– We have already hired eight new workers and I expect us to employ another 25 or 26. We expect 60% of the new employees to be highly qualified engineers in technical fields, and for the remaining workers to be employed in administration or as machine operators – said Jentsch.

The managing director of Macopharma, Caroline Hernu, stated that the company employed more than 2,000 workers in three facilities in France, Tunisia and Poland at that moment. She said that Macopharma primarily produced medical blood bags which were used in transfusions and for various medical purposes.

– Our idea was to combine our strengths, knowledge and skills and develop a new product which would encompass equipment for the treatment of blood and a product for the storing of blood – said Hernu.
