The international transport and logistics company cargo-partner opens new office in Subang Jaya, Malaysia
The international transport and logistics
company cargo-partner opened an own office in Subang Jaya / Malaysia. With
this location the Austrian company strengthens its network in South-East
Asia and is still on an expansion path.
- The
cargo-partner office is located in the heart of Subang Jaya, being a
centralized location to have fast access to all sea and airports in Kuala Lumpur. The Kuala Lumpur International Airport
– the largest and most important airport of the country - can handle up to 40
million passengers as well as 1.2 million tons of cargo per year. In 2010, it
was the 28th busiest airport in the world - reads a release issued by the company.
Malaysia’s traffic infrastructure is well developed – at least in the Western parts. The most important road connection is the North-South-Expressway, which stretches through the whole country, linking the Thai border in the North and Singapore in the South. This situation is quite similar for railroad infrastructure, which, by the way, mainly consists of narrow-gauge railroads.
The strategically advantageous position in the South China Sea and next to the Strait of Malacca ensures high importance in international naval trade. Among Malaysia’s most important seaports are Penang, Tanjung Pelapas and Pasir Gudang. Apart from that there are some 7,200 kilometers of navigable waterways, 4,000 kilometers of which are located in the Eastern part of the country where they are a commonly used alternative to poorly developed road infrastructure in remote areas.
According to the release, next to the recent opening in Tianjin / Greater China, cargo-partner continues to expand. As it was announced, Malaysia perfects but does not finish the expansion in South-East Asia.
Stefan Krauter, CEO of the cargo-partner group notes: “We are persuaded of the growth potential of South-East Asia and especially of Western Malaysia. This country is not only for business with Europe of great importance. Malaysia has a strong economic network with its neighbours Singapore and Thailand as well as a good standing within the Asian trade and a great connection to the Gulf Region. We will transact a lot of triangle-business in Malaysia which is decided in Singapore or Europe but does not affect those trading countries.”
