Don Don to become part of Mexican Bimbo Group

The Slovenian baked-goods company Don Don has signed an agreement with the Mexican company Bimbo, whereby it will become part of this biggest baked-goods group in the world.

As announced by Don Don, they will take over the leading role in the development of business and sales program in central and southern Europe, where Bimbo has not been present so far.

Don Don will continue strengthening its market shares in all the markets it already operates in. The baked products of Don Don will get a unique opportunity to be promoted and sold in world markets through Bimbo Group, announced the Slovenian company with the seat in Grosuplje.

As they say, the united baked-goods group will strengthen its regional presence and continue investments in high-tech factories, strategic connections and acquisitions in key markets.

Before entering the strategic relationship, the two partners will have to meet all the requirements, which they plan to do in the next five months.

Don Don started its operations in 1994 in Metlika. In 2023, it expanded to Croatia, and since 2008, it has become the leading baked-goods company in Serbia. In October 2015, it took over Pekarna Grosuplje.

Today it has subsidiaries in Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Bulgaria, Romania and Croatia, and it also exports its products to North Macedonia, Greece and Slovakia. In Slovenia, it has production facilities in Kranj and Grosuplje, and it owns the brands “Tvojih 5 minuta” and Pekarna Grosuplje.

Don Don employs 2,415 people at the level of the group, according to the company’s webpage.

Bimbo Group, with the seat in Mexico City, is present in 35 countries of North and South America, Europe, Asia and Africa. It has 227 production facilities and more than 1,500 sales centers.
