By following the results on the ground by testing the corn, the animal feed and the raw milk and being in constant communication with the services of the Ministry of Health of Serbia, it has been decided, just like in the past years, for the new amendment to the Rulebook to retain the same threshold of aflatoxin in raw milk of 0.25 micrograms per liter in the next year, that is, until December 1, 2025, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management of Serbia announced and pointed out that it meant that the threshold of aflatoxin M1 in raw milk would not be lowered to 0.05 micrograms per liter.

– Milk producers and processors, phytosanitary and veterinarian inspections are continuously taking adequate measures to the end of reducing the level of aflatoxin M1 in raw milk – the ministry says in the announcement.

The standard of the Codex Alimentarius Commission for aflatoxin M1 in raw milk, which a third of the countries adhere to, such as the United States, China, Russia and other states outside the EU, has remained the same and amounts to 0.5 micrograms per liter, the ministry reminds.
