New law to bring quicker and easier issuing of building and exploitation permits, minister announces

The minister of construction, transport and infrastructure of Serbia, Goran Vesic, has stated that the new Law on Planning and Construction would speed up the process of the issuing of building permits and that it would bring “bigger transparency and an acceleration of the procedures.”

In an interview for the Kurir daily, he said that the process of the issuing of building permits would be accelerated in a way that would enable the building permits up to a certain floor area to be issued by design studios and added that it was “the case in many countries of the world.”

– We are also considering simplifying the issuing of exploitation permits and shifting the job to those who do the technical acceptance. We want to adopt a good, quality law, which is why we are very open to hearing, through a public discussion, suggestions from everybody who is taking part in the process of construction and who can contribute to us coming to the best legal solutions for the country and the citizens – said Vesic.
