Memorandum on second phase of construction of Nis Airport signed with Shandong, agreement worth EUR 140 million in one month

The Memorandum on the construction and modernization of the Nis Constantine the Great Airport was signed today in the airport’s building by the minister of construction, transport and infrastructure of Serbia, Goran Vesic, and the director of the Chinese company Shandong, Zhuang Yong. Vesic said that, around a month later, the commercial agreement on the construction and modernization of the Nis Airport would be signed and that it would be worth over EUR 140 million. He also reminded that the state had invested EUR 30 million in the Nis Airport up till then.

– We are entering the second phase of development and construction of the Constantine the Great Airport, and it entails more investments. Negotiations on the commercial agreement and the signing of the agreement are coming and we will then know exactly how much it is worth – stated Vesic.


He specified that the second phase of the development of the Nis Airport entailed the repair of the runway, the construction of a taxiway, the expansion of the platform connecting the terminal building and the aircraft parking platform, the demolition of the old terminal building and the construction of a new one and the construction of a new tower.
