Within the EU program “Pathways to Resilience” (P2R), the Municipality of Arilje, in partnership with the Ecological Association Rzav, has launched the project called “The Strengthening of Climate Resilience in Arilje: A Participative Approach for Sustainable Adaptation.” This pioneering project, the first of its kind in Serbia, is financed through the mechanism of the European Union with the aim of helping local communities adapt to climate changes.

The project, which lasts until February 2026, encompasses a wide range of activities. The key components include the preparation of the Strategy of Climate Resilience and the Action Plan, which will encompass concrete measures for adaptation to climate change. In addition to that, the plan is to also prepare the Plan for Climate Investments, which will identify the financial resources and mechanisms for supporting these measures. Including local communities through workshops and forums plays a key role, because one of the main goals of the project is to include citizens and local experts in all phases of the planning and implementation of adaptation to climate change.
