Nearly 27,000 foreigners receive work permits in Serbia since February 1 – Employers may also file requests

Since the establishment of the portal for foreigners on February 1 this year, which enabled the service for the filing of requests for the Single Residency and Work Permit for Foreign Nationals in Serbia, as of September 30, a total of 26,792 requests for the Single Permit were approved, whereas in September alone, 857 permits were approved, said the director of the Office for IT and eGovernment, Mihailo Jovanovic.

Jovanovic pointed out that the Single Permit could be issued based on employment, namely: employment under contract or another contract under which the rights are exercised in line with the Labor Act, self-employment, moving within a business entity, independent professionals, as well as training and professional development.

The request for the Single Permit may be filed by the foreign national or the employer on behalf of the foreign national.
