Franz List in Manjez park in Belgrade
On the occasion of the 200th anniversary of Franz List's birth, the Embassy of the Republic of Hungary and the City of Belgrade will reveal a bust of the famous Hungarian composer in Manjez park on October 21st, a day before his birthday. The bust of Franz List is a work of art by Katalin Gere from Budapest, one of Hungary's most significant sculptors and portraitists.
The Embassy of the Republic of Hungary placed an order for that bust to present it to the City of Belgrade as a gift.
Budapest gave the first such bust to Warsaw as a present. The bust is made of brass and mounted on a 170-centimeter high pedestal made of Bianco Castilla granite. The City Assembly's Secretariat for Culture hired our famous sculptor Zoran Ivanovic to design the pedestal. His works already decorate the park at Trg Republike (Republic) Square.
There is already a bust of Chopin in Manjez park.
