Yura opens new factory in Nis - Jobs for 500 workers

South Korea's Yura opened Monday a new factory in Nis, the second in that town and the third in Serbia. The factory will be producing cables for the automotive industry and using copper supplied by the Copper Mining and Smelting Complex (RTB) Bor as a raw material.

A total of EUR 8 million were invested in the construction of the new factory Yura Shin Won, which has already hired 500 workers, and the state has granted EUR 3 million worth of incentives to Yura Corporation for the creation of 300 new jobs.

She reminded that Yura employed 2,100 workers at its two factories in Nis and that the plan from 2.5 years ago was to open a cattle market in the location of the work zone Donje Medjurovo where those two factories were situated.

This 12,500-square-meter has the capacity to process 300 tonnes of copper per month, and the cables produced in it will be supplied to Yura's factories in Raca and Nis, as well as to factories in the EU countries and Russia.

The new factory in Nis was opened in the presence of representatives of the Embassy of South Korea to Serbia, SIEPA, and local businessmen.
