EPS, Masdar from Abu Dhabi discuss cooperation in projects promoting usage of renewable energy sources
Representatives of the Electric Power Company of Serbia (EPS) and Abu Dhabi-based energy company Masdar spoke on October 11th in Geneva about the possibilities of cooperation in the projects promoting the usage of renewable energy sources, EPS announced.
Masdar CEO Dr Ahmed Al Jaber visited today in Geneva, at the Forum on the Energy Future of Europe, the pavilion of EPS and other Serbian companies participating in that event as part of the Energy Association of Serbia.
- At this forum we were introduced for the first time to the potentials and projects in the energy sector of Serbia. We know that EPS is interested in cooperation and that renewable energy sources are among the priorities of your government and that company. I believe that Serbia will become an interesting destination for investors in the domain of "green" energy. As one of the organizers of this forum, I want to thank EPS and other Serbian companies for their participation and to stress that we are ready to use our experience to help the development of sustainable solutions in the field of energy - said Al Jaber.
At that event, Al Jaber talked with the following representatives of member companies of the Energy Association of Serbia: Bratislav Ceperkovic, executive director of EPS, Milenka Jezdimirovic, director of Dunav Osiguranje, Milan Dacic, director of the Hydro-meteorological Institute of Serbia, and Srdjan Mihajlovic, director of Transnafta.
EPS Executive Director Bratislav Ceperkovic stated that Al Jaber had offered EPS and its partners to participate together in the World Conference on Renewable Energy Sources in Masdar City in Abu Dhabi, taking place between January 16 and 19, 2012. Masdar City is the only city in the world to use renewable energy sources only.
- Participation in the expo is not the end but only the beginning of the cooperation because representatives of Masdar and the UAE officials are going to visit Serbia in the first quarter of 2012. The idea is to finish the signing of a memorandum of strategic cooperation in the field of renewable energy sources. Few billion U.S. dollars invested in the renewable sources of energy in Spain, Germany and some other European countries came from Masdar City, and we should hope that Serbia will also get a piece of that - said Ceperkovic.
