The survey of the National Bank of Serbia for the second quarter of 2024 shows that the banks eased the lending conditions for dinar-denominated corporate loans, whereas for the FX and FX-indexed ones, the conditions were slightly tightened. A moderate tightening of the conditions for corporate clients is expected in the third quarter, especially for FX loans.

As for retail loans, in the second quarter, the banks eased the lending standards, especially for dinar-denominated cash loans and refinancing loans. This trend of the easing of the standards is expected to continue in the third quarter as well.

The demand for corporate loans grew in the second quarter, primarily due to a higher interest in short-term FX loans. In the next quarter, the banks expect a continued growth of the demand for all types of loans.

At the same time, retail clients increased the demand for nearly all types of loans in the second quarter, and the banks predict that the trend will continue in the third quarter.
