Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport announced that, after a detailed analysis of the causes of sudden short-term interruptions in the software system operation, which slowed down the flight check-in process at several counters in the past two days, it was determined that the problem was caused by a global software failure, beyond the airport's control.

As it is pointed out, the problem simultaneously affected the operation of 13 other airports in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

It is added that due to the quick reaction of the authorities, these breakdowns were dealt with locally in the shortest possible time.

- The company in charge carried out system repair work at the affected locations last night, and officially informed us that no further problems are expected - the announcement reads.

Belgrade Airport reminds the readers that this is the second incident related to global IT systems this summer season.

They also state that they actively cooperate with their providers in order to reduce the risks of similar situations.

- Once again, we apologize to all passengers whose flights were affected by the aforementioned malfunction - the announcement emphasizes.
