Serbia and Japan are launching negotiations about the Investment Agreement which will open new opportunities for the strengthening of economic relations and incite the development of the economy of Serbia. This decision was adopted during the meeting of the minister of foreign affairs of Serbia, Marko Djuric, and the minister for foreign affairs of Japan, Yoko Kamikawa.

At the meeting, minister Djuric emphasized the dynamic development of the trade exchange and the growth of investments from Japan, thanks to which Serbia had achieved considerable economic successes. He emphasized the long-standing tradition of the close partnership cooperation between Serbia and Japan, as well as the gratitude for the Japanese solidarity and donations in the past twenty-five years.

Also, Djuric praised the Japanese Western Balkans Initiative and expressed the desire for this initiative to become more visible and serve as the framework for the realization of concrete projects.

Minister Djuric once again emphasized Serbia’s dedication to dialogue as the only means for solving the issues related to Kosovo and Metohija and emphasized the importance of preserving political stability for the further development of companies from both countries.

– Serbia will continue creating a political environment of stability, so that both our companies and yours could develop. Preserving stability is our highest priority – concluded minister Djuric.
