At today’s session, the Government of Serbia adopted the Decree on determining the Spatial Plan of the Special-Purpose Area for the Vozd Karadjordje fast route, whereby conditions are met for the construction of the first section of that fast route, from Lazarevac to Arandjelovac, to begin by the end of the year.

– The construction of the I-grade state road Vozd Karadjordje, as a modern road route, is of strategic significance for the connecting of local self-governments, an even and sustainable regional development, the economic valorization of the entire territory, an increase in the employment rate and standards through new investments and it would be the fastest connection of Eastern Serbia with Central and Western Serbia and the corridors E-75 and E-763 – the press release says.

The Spatial Planning Agency has accepted the complaints of the citizens which concerned the leg of the fast route which was supposed to pass through the municipality of Topola towards Kragujevac as justified.

As eKapija has already written, the Commission for Expert Control of the Planning Documentation of the Vozd Karadjordje Fast Route through the Municipality of Topola officially proposed for the entire Zagorica-Svetlic leg to be excluded from the project, thereby also removing the Ljubeselo leg.

Let us remind that, in March, the Spatial and Urban Planning Agency of Serbia announced the public inspection of the draft spatial plan of the special-purpose area of the infrastructural corridor of the state road Vozd Karadjordje. This plan envisages a route of 163.75 km with three tunnels and over 130 bridges. Also, 21 interchanges are planned on the route.

The road, according to the document, has to be built so that it has two physically separated driving lanes, with two traffic lanes for each driving lane, whereby each traffic lane has to be at least 3.5 meters wide and each driving line has to have a special niche/lane 3.5 meters wide and 30 meters long for the emergency stopping of the vehicles periodically at every 2 kilometers along the route.

Other elements of the road (the radius of curvature, the gradient, the shoulders and so on) should enable a speed up to 100 km/h.

The route of this and other main roads which are being built or are promised to be built in Serbia can be viewed on our INFO-MAP.
